Stage A.

Find a company or business organisation in your area and collect the following information:

a/ what kind of business organisation it is (newly privatised, public, sole trader, partnership, joint venture)

b/ its main business activities

c/ location of its head office, branches/subsidiaries d/ turnover, profits, size of  work-force etc.

Stage B.

You are attending a business forum. Introduce yourself formally. Say who you work for, what your position is in the organisation and how long you have worked for it. Use the information you have collected.

Some of the following expressions might be useful:

I am with the Rover Group. Iwork for ...
We make/manufacture/sell/deal in ...
My company is based in ...
Our head office is in ...
I have been with the company for ten years.
We have branch offices/subsidiaries in ...
We are a private company.
Still family owned.
But we'll go public in a few years' time.
