October 1st 1888 - the birthday of the Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”
1889 - the Department of Physics and Mathematics established
1984 - Educational Computer Systems Laboratory (ECSL) established
1985 - Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics received its current name
1994 - Department of Information Technologies established on the basis of the ECSL
