Project summary

The RE*CAME consortium organized in 2006 and 2007 Researchers' Nights in several Bulgarian cities focused on researchers in Physics and Technology (in 2006), and on Archaeology and History (in 2007). The consortium decided to emphasise in 2008 on another research areas – Biology, Chemistry and Ecology as the three columns in research and technological development concerning sustainable environmental development.

The RE*CAME project will provide various opportunities to Bulgarians to interact and have fun with researchers. It will disclose the life and work of researchers from scientific areas on which is based our quality of life and the future of next generation – Biology, Ecology and Chemistry, and shows how different technologies and scientific methods are supporting the research work.

The project will raise the awareness on the opportunities and the support which EU provides to researchers under its three initiatives for researchers’ jobs, services and rights, and special promotional materials will be distributed at the EU stands 'Researchers in motion'.

The project events will take place in several Bulgarian cities – Sofia, Plovdiv, Stara Zagora, Sliven, Dobrich and Rousse.

A number of high visible activities will be designed in accordance with the target audience:

  • for the younger audience: several competitions for photos, projects, games etc.
  • for the adults – an amusement programme of researchers
  • for all participants – guided tours in museums and old cities, exhibitions and a lot of fun...
