Project Description
The context: At the moment a computer-based learning environment - Comenius Logo - is being adapted to the Bulgarian language and teacher training courses are being organized to help teachers master the programming
language, the environment itself and the educational philosophy behind
it.
The target group: Elementary and secondary school
teachers teaching computers and computer applications at schools.
The goal: The final goal is to build a WWW site to support teachers using Comenius
Logo for introduction of computer related topics in the elementary
school and for programming and developing computer applications in secondary
school. Through this site all the materials developed in the project will
become available to teachers who are interested. This site will also enable
communication between developers and teachers using the environment as
well as provision of feedback, evaluation and update of this resource.
In the future, if it proofs to be useful, an on-line version of the Comenius
Logo teacher training course will be offered through this site.
People involved: At the moment a small team of initiators and developers is involved.
Consequently more people will collaborate - a group of 16 teachers followed
the introductory Comenius Logo course and start experimenting with the
environment in the classroom. They will both use the resource and contribute
to its further development.
Materials to be developed: Reference, educational and software materials to be developed
include: electronic texts - short and full references for the system, guidelines
for classroom use, sets of problems, examples of classroom practice, curricula,
etc.; hypertext - Windows on-line HELP; software - demo projects, applications
developed by teachers and students, microworlds developed by university
students evaluation materials, comments ...
