The MSc Programme "Educational
and Training Systems Design (ETSD)" is a one-year programme (for the regular
mode of study) and two years programme (for distance mode, including weekend
face-to-face sessions), internationally oriented, for persons who find
themselves in a career situation where they are responsible for strategic
responses to educational and training problems and challenges. The Programme
is offered in English and has as major characteristics: (1) the application
of theory into practice, and (2) a focus on the needs and situation of
the individual participant.
This Programme was started
in August 1994 at the Faculty of Behavioural
Sciences at the University
of Twente in Enschede, The Netherlands. On September, 1998, the University
of Twente and Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski" signed on a Memorandum
of Understanding for a licensed regional delivery of the Master of Science
Programme 'Educational and Training Systems Design' at the Sofia University
through the newly established Centre of Information Society Technologies.
In terms of responsibilities
this implies that the actual teaching will take place in the Sofia University,
Bulgaria, while the University of Twente maintains full responsibility
for the content and the quality of the licensed programme. All successfully
graduated students receive a MSc degree diploma from University of Twente.
Student performance in each
course will be monitored by a member of the teaching staff of the University
of Twente, who is responsible for the on-campus (Enschede) version of the
particular course. This implies that the instructional staff that teaches
the Master of Science Programme 'Educational and Training Systems Design'
on-campus at the University of Twente will be involved in the monitoring
process for the licensed programme that is delivered by the Centre of Information
Society Technologies, Sofia University.
